Radiotherapy in Inoperable Mucoepidermoid Parotid Cancer: A Case Report

Introduction: Salivary gland cancer is an uncommon malignancy in the head and neck. The most common histopathologic type salivary malignancies mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC). Radiotherapy has a role malignancy, especially inoperable cases postoperative settings. Definitive or radiotherapy with without chemotherapy can improve locoregional control (LRC) patients parotid carcinoma. Case Presentation: We report case of 77-year-old male MEC right parotid, who received definitive radiotherapy. From three-month evaluation after radiation therapy, we found significant reduction tumor mass. Conclusions: Surgery remains treatment choice for malignancies. be modality refuse surgery. Although result not satisfactory, still give clinical benefits to patients.
